PRESTON, England - Company bosses are celebrating after their long awaited website has launched across Europe - taking their shop front to bike lovers across the globe.
Chairman Adam Patel says the decision to use the internet to reach several major countries as well as the UK will keep his company moving forward, even at a time when many motorbike clothing and accessory retailers are grinding to a halt.
He says: “Ghostbikes has always used the internet to reach customers and because the web allows us to open our store to the worldwide biking community without having shops in every country we’ve kept making a profit despite the recession.
“With an international website and a top quality new range of biking boots and helmets on sale I am confident 2010 will be another great year for us.”
The Preston-based company started trade in 2004. Initially two friends Adam Patel and Ian Moore teamed up to sell opportunist products they could import - passing a saving on to UK customers.
In 2005 the pair began to specialise in products for bikers and Mr Patel says they have never looked back. Their range has gradually increased from a small pit bike collection to a whole host of top motorbike helmets, gloves, boots and accessories, including top names like Shoei, Airoh and now their own range of exclusive products.
Mr Patel attributes the team’s success to its consistent communication with bikers. More than half their sales come through recommendations from happy customers. Customer demand has now prompted Ghostbikes directors to seek out new offices and large retail site in Lancashire.
Eighteen-year-old bike racer Reece Rothwell, who is sponsored by Ghostbikes, has also had a successful month - finishing third in the UK Triumph Triple Challenge. He is now busy testing the company’s biking range is up to a real biker’s standards.
Mr Patel adds: “I’m proud we are now the biggest UK Ebay seller of motorbike merchandise in the UK. Our staff have worked hard to gain the trust of the biking community. We’re looking forward to showcasing our brand across other countries in Europe.”
This year the company became a UK Top 60 Ebay Titanium Seller. Ghostbikes streamlined website www.ghostbikes.com has made the business much faster and has allowed staff to release their new anatomically designed Cougar, Neo and Stealth racing boots just in time for Christmas.
