Heinz Recalls a Batch of Fruit Medley Baby Food

HAYES, England, February 1 - Heinz is taking the precautionary measure of recalling part of an
isolated batch of Heinz Fruity Custard, Fruit Medley baby food in 4 x 100g
pots because of the potential presence of small pieces of plastic from inside
the pot which could present a choking risk.

The batch code affected is 9307 with a best before end date of 03/11/10.

Parents and carers are being advised not to use the product.

Heinz has informed the UK and Irish food authorities about the
precautionary action and advertisements are appearing in the national media
to advise parents and carers of the recall.

Those with affected product are advised to call the Heinz UK Careline on
08000-151557 for a full refund, or in the Republic of Ireland
1800-696979.

This action only affects Fruity Custard, Fruit Medley pots with the above
batch and date code. No other Heinz Fruity Custard pots or Heinz Baby Food
varieties are affected.

Heinz is carrying out a full investigation of the incident to ensure it
does not reoccur and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
