Rapid Implementation of Core Retail Platform Helping Fashion Retailer to Unlock Value within its Business

Redwood Shores, Calif. – June 28, 2010

News Facts

Swedish women’s fashion and home furnishings retailer, Indiska, has implemented a core retail platform based on Oracle Retail merchandising applications, the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/ebusiness/index.html) and Oracle Fusion Middleware in only nine months.
The go-live of the extensive Oracle footprint in Indiska’s 90 stores across Sweden, Norway and Finland is helping the Bohemian-inspired brand to support its drive for more profitable and sustainable business growth as it continues to expand in Europe.
Indiska chose to deploy the Oracle footprint in an accelerated implementation strategy, in order to deliver improvements to its business as quickly as possible, and worked closely with Oracle to achieve this goal.
In February, Indiska went live with the Oracle E-Business Suite Financials Release 12. The new solution promotes shared services across the business and within multiple countries. As well, the standard integration between Oracle Financials and the Oracle Retail applications was a key benefit as it reduced overall implementation timescales.
Implementation of the remaining Oracle footprint comprising the Oracle Retail applications and Oracle technology completed in March, nine months after the start of the project in May last year.
The selection of Oracle Retail Merchandising System (www.oracle.com/applications/retail/mom/merch_sys.html) , Oracle Retail Price Management (www.oracle.com/applications/retail/mom/price_mgmt.html) , Oracle Retail Trade Management (www.oracle.com/applications/retail/mom/trade_mgmt.html) , Oracle Retail Sales Audit (www.oracle.com/applications/retail/mom/sales_audit.html) , Oracle Retail Invoice Matching (www.oracle.com/applications/retail/mom/invoice_match.html) and Oracle Retail Allocation (www.oracle.com/applications/retail/mp/allocation.html) has replaced legacy merchandising systems with a single, scalable infrastructure supporting a common set of retail processes.
In addition, Indiska has implemented Oracle Fusion Middleware components including the Oracle WebLogic Suite (www.oracle.com/appserver/weblogic/weblogic-suite.html) , Oracle WebCenter Suite (www.oracle.com/products/middleware/user-interaction/webcenter-suite.html) and Oracle BPEL Process Manager (www.oracle.com/appserver/bpel_home.html) to deliver further operational efficiencies through better management of the data exchanges between the Oracle merchandising environment and other legacy applications including its point-of-sale and warehouse management systems.
Indiska is also using Oracle Database 11g (www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/oracle11g/index.html) to further optimise performance and reliability.
Oracle became Indiska’s platform of choice in May 2009 because of its high-end retail specific applications, leading infrastructure software and integrated capabilities across a broad range of business activities.
