Indosat Increases Productivity, Strengthens Security and Addresses SOX Compliance with Oracle Identity and Access Management

PT Indosat Tbk (www.indosat.com/) , one of the largest telecommunications providers in Indonesia with around 33,3 million subscribers as of Q1 2009, has deployed Oracle Identity Management (www.oracle.com/products/middleware/identity-management/identity-management.html) (IDM) across its 55 business and telecommunications applications, including billing, enterprise resource planning, human resources, customer relationship management and telco management products.

The integrated IDM solution allowed Indosat to establish automated workflows that enabled staff to request a user name and password online and receive approval via E-mail.

The automated system and process is managed for Indosat's 6,000 users, fulfilling up to 600 requests for user names and passwords in a day with minimal intervention from IT staff.

By minimizing the risk arising from authorized system access, Indosat is able to demonstrate compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley* legislation by ensuring clear audit trails and enabling the production of accurate compliance reports.

Indosat’s IT security operation control runs more efficiently now. Applications can be deployed faster and the most granular protection can be applied to enterprise resources while latent access privileges are eliminated.

In addition, Indosat has laid the secured IT foundation needed to pursue new business opportunities and revenue streams in response to market requirements.

DompetKu, for instance, will allow Indosat's customers to pay for goods and make financial transactions securely using their mobile phones.
