STOCKHOLM, February 21, 2011 - DigitalRoute today announced that KT, South Korea's largest landline
operator and mobile service provider, has selected DigitalRoute's
MediationZone(R) as part of its ongoing IT transformation project also known
as the BIT (Business & Information System Transformation) project.
KT announced in November 2010 that it is carrying out the BIT project in
order to transform itself into a global super-best business by introducing
world-best work processes via the innovation of its IT system, the backbone
of its business management.
The BIT project is designed to reform all its IT platforms (except
networks) including management information, sales, facilities, and services.
It aims to upgrade its business support platforms, as well as its work
processes, to the world's best level. As a part of this project, KT will
replace its existing mediation systems with MediationZone.
"MediationZone is a fundamental component of the transformed Billing and
Revenue management processes at KT and will serve as a central point of
integration between the network and the business support systems.
MediationZone will also provide functions that facilitate the migration of
data from the existing environment," said Jae Lee, VP, Biz & IT
Transformation at KT.
"Telco IT environments are undergoing rapid change as a result of the
recent years' technological advances, development in consumer behavior and
the competitive situation on the market. The need for a consolidated platform
to manage ever increasing data volumes is stronger than ever before. The
market forces are aligning to put mediation functions at the center stage and
the agreement with KT is a testimony that we have the best mediation
technology that the market has to offer," said Jan Karlsson, CEO at
DigitalRoute was founded in 2000 to provide best-of-breed mediation to
telecom network and service providers worldwide. MediationZone(R) from
DigitalRoute supports any combination of online/offline and
active/bi-directional mediation of voice, data and content services, with
carrier-grade functionality and unparalleled flexibility. There are more than
200 MediationZone deployments across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North
