LONDON, November 29, 2011 -

Why not give your animal-loving loved ones a unique gift this Christmas? With 20% of the Amazon rainforest already destroyed and deforestation continuing at an alarming rate, the jaguar’s rainforest home is in danger. Adopt a jaguar as a gift for a friend or a relative this Christmas - a gift they will truly appreciate, and one that really will make a difference.

When you adopt a jaguar through Sky Rainforest Rescue you are helping to preserve the habitat that threatened species like the jaguar rely on for survival. For as little as £3 per month your gift will include; a cuddly toy jaguar, regular campaign updates, a handy fact book, certificate of adoption and a greeting card. Most importantly, you will receive the knowledge that you have helped protect one of the most endangered animals in the Amazon Rainforest.

Give a gift that really makes a difference this Christmas

Animals like the jaguar need large tracts of rainforest to live, hunt and breed in. When an area of Amazon rainforest the size of 3 football pitches is lost every minute, action needs to be taken. Through Sky Rainforest Rescue, Sky and WWF are helping to protect the jaguar’s home and preserve the Amazon rainforest’s diversity for current and future generations.

With your help, it’s not too late. Adopt a jaguar this Christmas.

Notes to Editor

Sky and WWF have teamed up to help save one billion trees in the Brazilian state of Acre, by working with local people to make the Amazon’s forests worth more alive than dead. As well as protecting the rainforest, Sky Rainforest Rescue aims to help improve the livelihoods of families living in the area, preserve natural habitats for threatened species and tackle climate change by cutting greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation.
