Bundelkhand Akikrit Party demands central government to help Bundelkhand farmers directly through the district administrations but not in the way of releasing drought package to state governments. According to party convener Sanjay Pandey, it is proved in the past that such packages from central government were badly misused by UP government. So the blunder should not be repeated. It is also demanded by the party that the relief work in Bundelkhand must begin as soon as possible because so many farmers have already committed suicides till now. In this position government should not wait for more deaths. He says that in current year drought is a national problem but the situation of Bundelkhand is different from that of any other part of country because it has been suffering from drought since last six years.

Hence apart from releasing merely political statements the govt. should implement. “It is very unfortunate that UP govt. and UPA govt. are crushing the helpless farmers of Bundelkhand in their political competition”, Pandey adds.

According to BAP, the miserable condition of Bundelkhand can be abolished by granting it statehood but governments are not serious about this step too.

In this perspective, Sanjay Pandey says, ” both the govts. are only in mood of playing political game with this unavoidable issue. Neither of them wants to create Bundelkhand state. To reveal this truth, Bundelkhand Akikrit Party is going to public of Bundelkhand region. Very soon the party is coming on roads for this crucial cause”. Surendra Tiwari a senior leader of party says “now formation of bundelkhand state is an issue of “do or die” for us” . Raja Prajapati ,district president of the party from Chhatarpur district of Bundelkhand says, “now we are losing our patience because both the state governments (MP & UP) and central govt. are doing nothing to help us in this calamity of drought. Now no longer we can see deaths of our neighbors due to hunger or debt”.
