Quantum Global Technologies to Acquire Chamber Cleaning and Coating Services Group from Applied Materials

DUBLIN, Pennsylvania, April 5, 2011 - Applied Materials, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMAT) and Quantum Global Technologies,
LLC (QuantumClean(R)) today announced a definitive agreement for QuantumClean
to acquire the assets of Applied Materials' Chamber Performances Services
(CPS) semiconductor process kit precision cleaning, coating services and
associated analytical testing services businesses for an undisclosed cash
amount. The deal is expected to close within 30 days.

tool part cleaning, coating and restoration," said Scott Nicholas, CEO of
Quantum Global Technologies, LLC. "The combination of the two businesses will
form an unparalleled technological expertise and production capability with
14 cleaning centers worldwide, and we are pleased that Applied will remain a
valued customer."
Applied Materials will continue in the business of providing integrated
service under the Applied Integrated Semi Service and Total Kit Management
(TKM) brands with imbedded cleaning and coating services subcontracted to
QuantumClean. Further details will be available once the transaction is
final.
