LONDON -

- Colm Ryan to Head Phoenix Partners Group’s European High Grade Business

Colm Ryan joins the London office of Phoenix Partners Group, a leading interdealer credit and equity derivatives broker operating in New York, London and Paris (www.phoenixpartnersgroup.com).

Ryan, reporting to managing director Alex Hucklesby, will be responsible for building the European High Grade Cash business while helping to develop the existing High Grade CDS business.

Phoenix’s expansion in to another new market follows the successful launches earlier in the year in to European Emerging markets, North American and European equity derivatives markets, environmental brokerage services for the renewable energy and emissions markets worldwide and the opening of the Paris office.

Ryan joins Phoenix following five years at RBS where, as Managing Director, he established and ran Hedge Fund Sales in all credit products. Prior to this he was at Goldman Sachs for three years as co-Head of UK Bank Sales for all credit and derivative products. He started his career with equity and convertible trading positions at Kleinwort Benson and structured credit roles at Dean Witter and Deutsche Bank.

Alex Hucklesby, managing director, Phoenix Partners Group: commented, “Our business continues to grow globally in uncertain market conditions through organic growth and expansion in to new markets. Our relentless commitment to hire the best people in the market is demonstrated yet again with this addition to the Phoenix team.”
