By The Apm Group, PRNEThursday, February 3, 2011
HIGH WYCOMBE, England, February 4, 2011 - The APM Group, Official Accreditor for the ITIL certification scheme, has
announced that the review process for the ITIL V3 Managing across the
Lifecycle (MALC) has begun. As a capstone certification bringing together all
elements of the service lifecycle, the MALC certification has a very
important role within the ITIL V3 Certification Scheme.
The review coincides with the update of ITIL core publications and
presents an opportunity to reconsider the syllabus, examination and course
assessment criteria, to ensure the qualification meets the needs of
candidates.
Richard Pharro, CEO, The APM Group said: "Since the launch of the ITIL V3
Qualification Scheme, each of the qualifications has been reviewed on a
regular basis, as part of APM Group's continual service improvement process.
We are consulting extensively with a wide range of stakeholders, including
Accredited Training Organisations (ATOs), trainers, Examination Institutes
(EIs), students and their sponsors, users, the ITIL V3 examination panel and
itSMF International. Stakeholders' views will be gathered using a combination
of direct consultation and questionnaires."
The feedback gathered will be reviewed and analysed by a Syllabus
Advisory Board made up of representatives from the itSMF International, the
Licensed EIs, the V3 Examination Panel and a selection of ATOs, all of whom
have been nominated to the Board by their constituencies. This board will be
responsible for considering all feedback and making informed recommendations
for improvements and changes to the syllabuses and other elements of the
certification.
The review project has already started, and survey questionnaires are
being designed. Feedback from the ITIL user community will be sought over the
coming weeks.
As it becomes available, further information on the surveys and
consultations will be made available through the ITIL official website
(www.itil-officialsite.com/), Best management practice website
(www.best-management-practice.com/), ITIL Examination Institutes
(www.itil-officialsite.com/ExaminationInstitutes/ExamInstitutes.aspx)
and itSMF International (www.itsmfi.org/).
