The 'Feminine Touch' Boosts Sales at Quicks
By Quicks, PRNESaturday, June 4, 2011
LONDON, June 6, 2011 -
Since Quicks launched last year with a unique and fresh approach to car
retailing aimed at women, it has become a huge success for parent company,
Pendragon PLC and will be opening a further three stores in Stoneygate,
Lincoln and York in June and July 2011.
Female buyers account for over two thirds of all sales at Quicks and
women are likely to continue to influence car purchase, as the stores offer a
'no hassle, no haggle' car shopping experience that is enjoyed by customers -
men and women alike.
The secret to Quicks' success is its 'Buying Assistants' who offer car
buyers a hassle-free buying experience and a retail environment more akin to
an Apple Retail store, than to a second hand car dealership. Once a customer
has located a car, they then use the conveniently placed buzzers in each
colour coded section within the store, to call on one of the Buying
Assistants. Customers can also browse the store's stock from the virtual
store, without having to walk around the displays, making the buying process
as simple and stress free as possible for the customer.
Quicks' differentiation comes through its customer-centric approach. It
wants its customers to enjoy their buying experience, so it has stripped away
the usual hassle associated with buying a car. The outside car displays are
also arranged into simple colour-coded sections stocked with over 150 cars,
with 4X4, small, medium, large and prestige cars, all separated making it
easy for customers to locate the car they are looking for. Quick's stores
even feature mini-cinemas where children can be entertained while parents
walk round the display.
Trevor Finn, Chief Executive of Pendragon PLC, comments: "We are
delighted with the success of Quicks since we launched the brand just over 12
months ago. We know that in many households, women make the decision on what
car to buy, so we have created a retail environment that is very attractive
to women, where they don't experience the hassle and haggle of some car
dealerships.
"The motor industry remains today very male-dominated, but we have bought
to market a female-friendly brand and an innovative approach to car retailing
and it works. Our focus on creating a pleasurable and stress-free shopping
experience is going down well with customers, men and women alike. We have
developed a relaxed, informal and pleasant atmosphere where there is no
pressure from sales staff and where the customer is always in control. We
have recruited all of our Buying Assistants from major high street retail
retailers and our customers feel they can approach them without being
hassled.
"We offer customers a wide choice of nearly new and used cars with the
lowest prices in the market, backed by an unrivalled customer care package
featuring a guaranteed refund policy, a price promise, a personal styling
service, MoTs and servicing."
The Quicks brand was launched in 2010, and currently operates five stores
around the UK in Stoke, Stockport, Stockton, Doncaster and Hull. Each store
offers servicing and styling, as well as a wide choice of cars, to suit every
type of driver with every type of budget. Quick's focus is on providing the
lowest prices, a wide product choice and excellent quality products,
supported by outstanding customer service. Internet shoppers can also browse
online at Quicks.co.uk and search stock before visiting the store.
