HARROGATE, England - The annual Bridal Buyer Awards is a highlight of the year for designers,
manufacturers and retailers in the bridal industry, and a celebration of the
skills and creativity that firmly place British talent up there on the global
playing field. This year, a new category was added, Wedding Dress of the
Year.
The initial shortlist was assembled by six of the UK’s top fashion
editors who selected what they considered was the best from each of the
finalists in last year’s Bridal Manufacturer of the Year category. Those
dresses then went on display at the Autumn National Wedding Shows in London
Earls Court and Birmingham NEC where more than 25,000 consumers got the
opportunity to see them and pick their favourite.
The winner who walks away with the covetable title in this year’s awards
ceremony held at Harrogate during the British Bridal Exhibition and hosted by
Fred Macaulay is Maggie Sottero’s ‘Ireland’, an elegant strapless gown in
skilfully-draped chiffon that reflects the vogue for Grecian-style
formalwear.
Editor’s notes:

Maggie Sottero, Mori Lee, Sincerity.
