Toronto's New Ten in '10

TORONTO, Canada, January 21 - With a new decade underway, Tourism Toronto has compiled the top ten
new things in 2010 not to be missed. Visitors will experience a wide
variety of unique activities on offer in Toronto from revealing Harry
Potter's magic, to putting on the Ritz and a visit from China's Terracotta
Army - Toronto's new attractions in 2010 offer something for everyone.
1. King Tut comes to town
The Art Gallery of Ontario welcomes Tutankhamun: The Golden King and
the Great Pharaohs, until April 2010. See some 100 artifacts from the tomb
of King Tut and other ancients who ruled through 2,000 years of Egyptian

2. Harry Potter reveals his magic
See authentic artifacts and artistry from the Harry Potter films in
elaborate settings from Hogwarts School of Wizardry. April 9 to September 6

3. The Warrior Emperor and China's Terracotta Army make a visit
The contents of a 2,000-year-old tomb belonging to China's legendary
first emperor were uncovered only 35 years ago. And now they make their
first Canadian appearance at the Royal Ontario Museum, June 26, 2010 to

4. Toronto puts on the Ritz
The city's newest luxury landmark, the Ritz-Carlton, opens in the
Fashion and Design District. Nearby, the first Thompson Hotel to open
outside the United States features a rooftop patio and lounge that are both

5. Canada's largest sports bar opens its doors
Attached to the Air Canada Centre (ACC), Real Sports, in Maple Leaf
Square, features dozens of screens and sports tickers.
6. Mirvish Rocks with Rock of Ages
The Royal Alexandra Theatre comes alive when the 1980s arena-rock
musical makes its Toronto debut in April. www.mirvish.com.
7. The Martin Goodman Trail gets a breath of fresh air
The 56-kilometre-long waterfront recreation trail sees the addition of
new wave decks. Undulating ribbons of wood designed to resemble the water's
own waves, these architectural wonders are worth the walk.
8. Summer theatre sizzles
The Four Seasons Centre for Performing Arts plays home to several
shows in Dancap's summer series, including South Pacific, the Rodgers and

9. The Toronto International Film Festival gets a new home
The Bell Lightbox, at King Street West and John Street in the heart of
the Entertainment District, offers daily screenings and galleries

10. Skate in shorts
