LONDON - World-Check, the leading provider of end-to-end risk management services, will be presenting a specialist seminar in Oslo for industry practitioners on emerging money laundering threats and best practice AML risk management procedures. Norway’s Money Laundering Act of 2003 incorporated the provisions of the second EU Anti Money Laundering Directive. A new Act is expected to come into force during 2009 or early 2010 which will incorporate the EU 3rd Directive.

Key speaker at the event is Mr. Kenneth Rijock, World-Check’s financial crime consultant. Mr. Rijock is a former money launderer and banking lawyer, turned financial crime consultant, and author of the widely-read “From a Different Angle,” World-Check’s early warning feature column. With more than 25 years of experience in the field, Mr. Rijock consults with law enforcement and the financial services industry, and assisted the first joint Swiss-American investigation of bankers and lawyers, which resulted in a major seizure of the proceeds of crime.

Identifying heightened risk individuals and entities and gauging the potential risks of doing business with them has been one of the greatest compliance requirements regulated institutions around the world have had to meet. Taking proactive steps now will enable businesses to prepare for any potential issues before the legislation takes effect. Seating will be limited, so please be sure to reserve your place at these informative events, contact events@world-check.com
