Would You Rather Win GBP10,000 or England Win the World Cup?
By Toluna, PRNETuesday, June 8, 2010
Are we really a football crazed nation? How eager are we for England to win the world cup?
LONDON, June 9, 2010 - Toluna investigated using QuickSurveys, our online self-service tool
which enables you to ask up to 5 questions and receive 2,000 responses in
less than 24 hours!
The most enthusiasm for the world cup came from the 16-34 year olds with
18% saying that given a choice, they would rather England win the world cup
than win GBP10,000 compared to just 9% of those 35 and over.
Maybe not surprisingly, males showed more loyalty towards watching the
football with 25% voting they would rather forfeit their summer holidays than
sacrifice watching football matches, compared to just 8% of females.
When asked whether they would rather win a Porsche 911 or a life long
football season ticket, 27% of males voted for the season ticket compared to
just 15% of females.
Finally, it was no contest when deciding who to go on a shopping spree
with - as both sexes agreed that they would rather go with football superstar
David Beckham than with his fashion-conscientious wife, Victoria.
For some then, the passion is evident - people are willing to sacrifice
money, holidays and cars in the name of football … let's hope England do not
let us down!
