Arete Celebrates 10 Years of Independent Research
By Arete Research, PRNEWednesday, April 14, 2010
LONDON, April 15, 2010 - April 17th marks Arete's 10th anniversary as a provider of
independent equity research. As the first independent equity research
provider authorised by the Financial Services Authority in the UK, Arete has
for the past decade proven that it is a vibrant and healthy business in
providing independent equity research. Arete remains free from conflicts of
interest and committed to its mission of producing in-depth fundamental
industry and company research. In recent years Arete has added US and Asian
coverage, expanded into areas such as alternative energy, semi cap equipment
and memory sectors, and broadened the range of services to its clients.
Richard Kramer, Founder and Managing Director of Arete
Research said "Since 2000, Arete has proven there is an appetite and market
for in-depth research, unfettered by obvious or hidden conflicts. Poor
quality research is still produced in abundance by over-worked staff at
already thinned-out research departments. Yet this is funded by a research
aimed at supporting new set of conflicts with proprietary trading, as much as
promotion for banking deals. Arete remains committed to the principle of
wholly independent research, and to restoring the trust essential to healthy
financial markets."
Arete Research
Arete is a leading independent provider of equity research,
specialising in the global technology, telecoms and alternative energy
sectors. Founded in early 2000, Arete was the pioneer in independent
research. Over the past decade it has grown to 30 analysts, sales and support
staff with offices in London, New York, Boston and Hong Kong. Research from
Arete presents investors with a global perspective of the key themes and
companies across the sectors it covers. Arete research is totally
independent, free of any conflict of interest from corporate advisory work
and - most topically recently - proprietary trading. As a matter of principle
Arete never receives any form of compensation from the companies it analyses;
its sole purpose is to help investors better understand the complex dynamics
of the sectors it covers.
