LONDON, September 9, 2010 - A new 'art on demand' online store, www.russellcotesartshop.co.uk,
has been launched by the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum, allowing people
to transform their homes with quality reproduction art from its
world-renowned collection. Purchases will help support the museum in the face
of diminishing public funding. Products include framed pictures, canvases,
posters and fine art prints with prices ranging from as little as GBP9.99.
All papers and frames are farmed from FSC sustainable sources.

The Russell-Cotes is one of the UK's most fascinating and quirky small
museums and its collection of fine art is amongst the world's most renowned,
including works by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Grimshaw and Etty. A Registered
Charity (no. 306288), the Museum still provides free public access to its
inspirational collection. The new UK coalition Government recently announced
reductions in public funding for culture.

Stuart Davies, President of the Museums Association says, "Museums need
to become more focused on self-generated income to survive and thrive.
National museums have been doing this for some time. It is more challenging
for smaller regional museums and historic houses as they are not necessarily
so easily attractive to big sponsorship deals. They need to become more
creative and market-savvy. The Russell-Cotes is impressive by the way it has
spotted a market for its core product that can be delivered within its
current limited resources."

Marketing and funding manager at the Russell-Cotes, Kerry Curtis
comments, "The paintings in the collection are so varied and beautiful; we
have always had many enquiries about buying prints. Consumers are
increasingly drawn to making cause-related purchases and by buying from the
Russell-Cotes Art on Demand store, not only are they getting a great value
and quality product which can transform a whole room at a low cost, they get
the added benefit of knowing that they are supporting one of England's most
unique heritage assets."

Art on Demand, also known as Print on Demand, is the process of producing
high quality fine art prints, canvases and framed art according to specific,
individual requirements.

Advanced digital scanning techniques enable fine art paintings and other
works of art to be captured in immense detail.

This new Art on Demand store allows people across the world to enjoy
their own 'repro' piece of this unique collection, whilst supporting the
continued existence of the original.
