Cambridge Woman Takes Bellhop Honours

First Ever Porter of the Year Award Winner Named

LONDON, December 10 - A diligent woman from Cambridge has beaten off five male
contenders to be named the first ever Porter of the Year during an awards
ceremony held yesterday in London.

Isy Barrett from the Cambridge Belvedere apartments was
presented with the honour at the News on the Block Property Management
Awards. She was named ahead of five male finalists, representing prestigious
London apartments, for her hard working attitude and dedication to her
residents.

The other five finalists for the award were:

    - Patrick Opuku, Day Concierge at St George Wharf in London who
      received a highly commended award.
    - Pedro Louro, Porter at Queens Mary Place in London who received a
      highly commended award.
    - Red Houjabi, Head Concierge at The Water Gardens in London
    - Anthony Coker, Concierge at Oppidan Apartments in London
    - Kevin Waite, Day Concierge at Beaufort Park in London

The POTY Award was created by the UK's dedicated information
and advice service for flat owners and managers, News on the Block,
www.newsontheblock.com to acknowledge the hard work of porters and
concierges across the UK for their dedication and commitment to the residents
and complexes they service.

Nicolas Shulman from News on the Block said 'With more than
12,500 porters looking after over 1.5million flats in the UK, porters are the
unsung heroes of the apartments industry.'

'The porter is an indispensable position in the smooth running
of apartment buildings. This is an award for the unnoticed few who open

Eight other honours were also presented at the Property
Management Awards to recognise excellence and professionalism of all
specialists working in the apartment property sector, at an individual and
company level.
