LONDON, September 17, 2010 - Carrefour has unveiled plans to reinvent its hypermarkets and turn them
into "destination stores".

The world's second largest retailer has revealed to analysts how it will
remodel its 500 hypermarkets across Europe, bringing in new designs, services
and technologies for its customers.

In a video interview with financial news website www.cantos.com,
CEO Lars Olofsson gave a detailed breakdown of the new format - Carrefour
Planet - as well as an update on the Group's transformation plan and targets
for the future.

Carrefour will invest around 1.5 billion euros over two and a half to
three years but Mr Olofsson expects "a sales increase of around 18% over the
coming three to four years".
