LONDON, November 11, 2011 -

The definitive online source of technical news, analysis, commentary and insight for accountants, tax and audit professionals, has been launched by CCH (www.cch.co.uk), part of global information group, Wolters Kluwer.

AccountancyLive (www.accountancylive.com) has been created by the team behind Accountancy magazine, the UK’s largest circulation journal for the profession. Its launch follows an initial and successful testing period.

Strengthening Accountancy magazine’s well-established news and analysis, AccountancyLive.com additionally offers regularly updated CDP-qualifying technical content, drawing on the insights of CCH’s specialist editors and some of the biggest names in the profession.

For a current initial subscription of £239.20+VAT per annum (usually £299+VAT) for a three-user licence, subscribers can also search the 10-year Accountancy magazine archive. ‘Accountancy+’ subscribers additionally receive an annual subscription to Accountancy magazine in print format.

Douglas Broom, head of CCH content, says: “AccountancyLive.com is the result of months of painstaking research and development. Our market research demonstrates that there is a palpable appetite for unrivalled technical content combined with news and analysis across accounting, audit and tax.

“AccountancyLive and Accountancy magazine more than meet this demand. They set the agenda for accountants, tax advisers and finance professionals working in practice and in business.”

A significant advantage to users is the CPD-qualifying technical content that includes an online tracker to generate a personalised record of CPD earned while engaging with AccountancyLive’s content. This comes with an inclusive monthly eCPD module, selected from CCH’s unique online professional training material.

AccountancyLive.com news content is available free, with subscribers receiving richer editorial offerings that include monthly in-depth analysis and comment from the profession’s most respected contributors and authors:

  • On the tax front, contributors include Francesca Lagerberg, head of tax at Grant Thornton, and Bill Dodwell, Deloitte’s head of tax policy. The auditing arena is perceptively covered by Andrew Davies, Ernst & Young’s UK & Ireland lead partner of Financial Accounting Advisory Services. His contributions are ably complemented by the independent forensic consultant Emile Woolf.
  • Expert legal commentary is delivered by Christopher Davies from law firm, Gateley, while Andrew Vials, partner at KPMG, keeps readers abreast of all things accounting.
  • Chris Wales, managing director of FTI Consulting, keeps a close eye on economic matters. Fiona Hotston Moore, an experienced audit and business advisory partner and head of London corporate business at Crowe Clark Whitehill, writes on development issues.

AccountancyLive has clear and navigable tax, audit, accounting and development sections which are conveniently presented for the different needs of professionals working in practice and in business.

Douglas Broom continues: “The launch of AccountancyLive.com represents the latest stage in the evolution of the Accountancy magazine brand and its 122-year pedigree. The strong growth of CCH and Wolters Kluwer’s digital content means that Accountancy is now the new, independent voice for the profession.

“The launch in August this year of the Accountancy news app in the iTunes store has already resulted in more than 5,300 downloads. This demonstrates that there is a keen appetite for digital content in the accounting, tax and audit profession. We see this trend growing as CCH continues to take a lead in integrating digital content with professional development.”
