LONDON, August 9, 2011 -

Parallels, the global leader of cloud services enablement and automation and desktop virtualisation, has named Cobweb, a leading UK cloud services provider, as one of the world’s fastest growing Hosted Exchange providers on the Parallels platform. With an increase of over 2600% during the three year period of June 09 - June 11, the number of Cobweb exchange mailboxes has grown from 1,989 to an impressive 53,790.

Joining forces in 2007, Cobweb was the first UK company to adopt Parallels’ interface platform, which has enabled it to cement its position as a one-stop-shop for its direct customers and resellers. Eliminating the need for development teams, Parallels provides a comprehensive solution that automates everything from delivering, managing and billing cloud services, which has helped Cobweb to streamline its processes, enhance its offering and cut costs.

Julian Dyer, Chief Technical Officer, Cobweb said: “With IT decisions becoming increasingly more strategic, there has been a shift in the perception of Cloud computing with a flood of organisations now keen to utilise the benefits. Flexible, scalable and cost effective, it’s no surprise that uptake in Cobweb’s exchange mailboxes on the Parallels network is booming.

“Cobweb understands what resellers need to succeed in the SMB market,” adds John Zanni, Vice President, Service Provider Marketing & Alliances, Parallels. “They realize that offering a complete solution of Microsoft services is critically important and have leveraged the Parallels solution to make that possible for their resellers - it’s a key reason they are one of the fastest growing Hosted Exchange providers using our solution.”

Dyer continues: “The unfounded perception that on-premise models are more secure and allow greater control is quickly diminishing, with a raft of organisations now moving into the Cloud.  Our solutions are easy to install and require little or no capital investment and enable organisations to focus on what they do best without having to deal with the frustration and complexities of IT adoption. We’re expecting this impressive growth to continue and are looking forward to developing our partnership with Parallels further.”
