Following BAA's announcement that Heathrow saw more passengers last month
than in any other April on record, this could be the beginning of a new

New figures released by BAA have revealed that Heathrow had its busiest
April on record, with a staggering 5.8 million passengers passing through the
airport last month. This figure marks a 4.22% increase from 2009, compared to
the 31.1% for 2010 due to the disruption caused by the Icelandic volcanic ash
cloud. While 2010 was a very difficult year for travel, these new figures
show that more people have decided to go on a foreign holiday this year,

million in 2009. The second biggest rise was recorded at Edinburgh airport,
which reported the second highest increase of passengers in April, with
776,000 people using the airport that month, an increase of 3.19% compared to
