LONDON - Bi-monthly Magazine Available in Digital Format and From Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons
GreenerLiving, a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to helping people achieve a more sustainable lifestyle, re-launches later this week in print and digital format, with a distribution deal for print copies to be available free of charge from selected mainland branches of Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons, as well as independent retailers around the country.
Providing news, practical advice and tips, information and features to people with an interest in, or desire to find out about living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle, GreenerLiving also aims to motivate those so far feeling uninspired by the sustainability debate.
Editor Peter Batt said: “Public attitudes research shows that the consumer’s appetite for helpful, practical information about greener products and services is as strong as ever, maybe even stronger because of the current economic climate.
“The green sector can be a confusing area for consumers, so re-launching the magazine now gives us the opportunity to capitalise on people’s desire to explore a more sustainable lifestyle. As the GreenerLiving.tv website develops this year, it will also become a gateway to finding and purchasing eco-friendly products and services.”
Three issues of GreenerLiving were published in 2007 and consumer reaction, combined with further growth in the market, helped the publishers secure investment for the re-launch from Catalyst Green EIS Fund, which specialises in supporting green business projects.
The view that ethical consumerism will grow in the current economic climate is held by Martin Sorrell, WPP chief and one of the UK’s best-known business pundits, at a recent lecture in the City, when he said: “People think [green consumerism] will disappear in the recession but I think the opposite. Consumers will consume more responsibly in the short to medium term.”
Catalyst Green EIS Fund has appointed Stargate Capital Management to manage the investment on their behalf.
GreenerLiving is published by Whizzywig (soon to be renamed GreenerLiving Media Ltd), with ad sales being managed through www.getmemedia.com and its own ad sales representatives. Print copies of the magazine are distributed by Self Select Distribution, a leader in the free magazine field, and a full list of stockists can be found at www.greenerliving.tv
OVERALL APPROACH: GreenerLiving is written for a mainstream audience. It is not preaching to the converted, but provides information in an accessible and entertaining style - and with a sprinkling of humour.
