LONDON, February 21, 2011 - With the latest High Speed Rail (HSR) construction contract of EUR7.2
Billion
being awarded in July and the EIB recently investing EUR900million
into a new HSR project in Spain, it's clear to see that HSR continues to be
investment attractive. As such, construction companies need to be prepared in
their approach to ensure maximum success in securing potentially lucrative
future contracts.

EIB Vice-President Magdalena Alvarez underlined the "strategic importance
of developing the high-speed network that will foster better rail
communications between the EU regions and undoubtedly generate safety,
efficiency and sustainability gains in the transport of both goods and
people." (Source: European Investment Bank)
