JetBrains(R), creators of intelligent, productivity-enhancing tools for software developers, have announced the availability of IntelliJ(R) IDEA 9 Milestone Release 1, an official preview of the award-winning Java IDE due for release by the end of Fall 2009.

The Milestone release is an important step toward the next version of IntelliJ IDEA, designed to help developers stay in sync with the latest technologies, frameworks and languages.
“We want to demonstrate the progress we’ve made toward IntelliJ IDEA 9 and show developers what it has in store for them,” said Max Shafirov, IntelliJ IDEA project lead. “A milestone release is also a great chance for our users to voice their opinions and provide input on areas that still need improvement. We will carefully evaluate and utilize all feedback. Developers, in turn, can already start using the latest features we’ve implemented.”
