Splash of Colours and Joy of the Urban Garden on Display at 'Art@Ketchum Pleon'
LONDON, January 18 - Works by Karin Gunnarsson, a Swedish-born photography graduate
from the Royal College of Art, are being featured at the Art@Ketchum Pleon
exhibition now through to the beginning of March 2010.
Gunnarsson's dramatically innovative and colourful photo
series 'Some Time in my Garden' uses creative lighting techniques. Her
painterly photographs explore relationships between people, their "masks",
external objects and surroundings - all existing in a fantastical urban
garden, where the bright colours of nature make their own powerful statement.
The beauty and style of her works were inspired by her time in London and its
extraordinary vibe, and take spectators on a journey within the extended
reality of a utopian urban environment.
The Art@Ketchum Pleon series is hosted by the London office of
Ketchum Pleon, a leading European public relations consultancy and part of
global public relations agency Ketchum. The programme offers local artists
the opportunity to show their work in an art gallery established in Ketchum
Pleon's London office, located at 35-41 Folgate Street. In its first year,
Art@Ketchum Pleon showcased the works of a number of famed British artists,
including works by one of the U.K.'s leading linocut artists Paul Catherall,
as well as John Lee Bird (artist), Gail Mallatratt (printer), Andy Whale
(photographer), Monica Curtin (photographer), Tom Frost (illustrator) and
Stephen Rothwell (artist).
"We are so pleased to host brilliant artists like Karin
Gunnarsson for our Art@Ketchum Pleon series," said David Gallagher, senior
partner and president, Ketchum Pleon, and CEO of Ketchum Pleon London. "Not
only does this programme foster creative thinking amongst Ketchum Pleon
employees, but it also allows us to open our doors to the larger London
community and to support these talented local artists."
The Karin Gunnarsson: Some Time In My Garden exhibition may be
viewed weekdays from 10.00am - 5.00pm from 18 January to 5 March 2010 at
Ketchum Pleon London, 35-41 Folgate Street, London, E1 6BX.
