KUWAIT CITY, March 28, 2011 - First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Sheikh Jaber
Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah
attended Ali Al-Sabah Military College's
graduation ceremony to take part in the momentous day with the new graduates.
The graduation ceremony last week marked the commencement of the 15th class
of college army officers and 38th class of army officers.

Sheikh Jaber and Chief of the Army Staff Lieutenant General Sheikh Ahmad
Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah
received His Highness the Amir of Kuwait and the
Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber
Al-Sabah. Administration and staff members at the academy also attended the
graduation.

Head of the Ali Al-Sabah Military College Major General Ahmad Al-Rahmani
spoke to the ceremony attendees and welcomed His Highness the Amir. General
Al-Rahmani urged the graduates to carry out their collective duty to defend
Kuwait and the Kuwaiti people.

Sheikh Jaber discussed the bright future ahead for Kuwait's new army
officers. He said, "I am confident that these servicemen will help maintain a
strong, secure Kuwait now and in the future. Kuwait's military plays a vital
role in preserving peace and stability in the region and these officers will
help to continue that tradition."

Sheikh Jaber also spoke to reporters after the event and took the
opportunity to reaffirm Kuwait's strong support for Bahrain, a neighboring
GCC country. Kuwait recently deployed naval forces as part of a collective
GCC effort to bolster Bahrain's military and police in the wake of civil
unrest on the island.

The Kuwaiti naval forces currently deployed in Bahrain are "part and
parcel of the Peninsula Shield Forces that are defending Bahrain," said
Sheikh Jaber. "Sending these forces to Bahrain is a manifestation of our
commitment to that country, and is a step with which we are pleased."

Also last week, Sheikh Jaber awarded a number of army officers medals of
National Defence and first degree Order at a ceremony. Shekih Jaber stated,
"The efforts you are making in implementing the tasks and duties prove your
love and loyalty to God, [our] homeland and the Amir."
