LONDON - Moneybookers, one of Europe’s leading online payments providers (www.moneybookers.com/process-payments), is pleased to announce that it has been included in The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 league table, ranked at number six.

The league table ranks Britain’s fastest-growing private technology companies based on sales growth over the last three years. Moneybookers’ top ten position is testament to the company’s sustained strong growth since its foundation in 2001. Moneybookers has an annual transaction volume of over EUR3.5 billion. In 2008, revenue and profits doubled, making it one the fastest growing and most successful global payments companies in the world, with over nine million account holders.

The company was also highlighted as having the highest profit margin of all league table entrants.

Moneybookers’ worldwide payment network offers businesses access to over 80 payment options in over 200 countries through a single integration and represents one of the most comprehensive payments networks available. Moneybookers was the first e-money issuer in the UK to be licensed by the FSA.

Over 45,000 merchants use Moneybookers, including global partners such as eBay.com, Skype and Thomas Cook. Over 12,000 customers sign up for an account every day.

Nikolai Riesenkampff, co-CEO of Moneybookers, commented:

“This top ten ranking positions us at the forefront of technology companies in the UK and comes on top of the recognition we received at this year’s Media Momentum Awards (https://www.moneybookers.com/app/presscentre.pl?action=show&news_id=51). Our growth rate shows no sign of slowing as we continue to expand, increasing our reach and developing new products.”

The publication of The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 league table precedes a separate awards ceremony which will be held in November.

About the league table:

Now in its ninth year, The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 annual league table is compiled by Oxford-based research and networking events company Fast Track.

In addition to its title sponsor Microsoft, the league table is co-sponsored by Barclays Commercial Bank and BDO Stoy Hayward.

Companies are ranked by their compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in sales over their latest three financial years between 2005 and 2008, or 2006 and 2009. A minimum of 25 weeks’ trading in the base and latest years was required. For financial years lasting less or more than 52 trading weeks, figures were annualised on a simple pro-rata basis.

Annualised sales had to exceed GBP250,000 in the base year (2005 or 2006) and GBP5m in the latest year (2008 or 2009). Companies had to also show an increase in sales in their latest year.

Companies had to be unquoted, independent and registered in Britain. The research was carried out by Fast Track between May and August. All companies were interviewed by telephone and the majority (65) were also visited by the Fast Track research team.

Fast Track has 13 years’ experience publishing league tables ranking Britain’s top-performing private companies, and organising events for entrepreneurs to network and meet its sponsors. The company was founded and is run by Dr. Hamish Stevenson, who is an associate fellow of Green Templeton College, Oxford University.
