Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting Software Pre-Integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle’s JD Edwards Applications

COLLABORATE 2010, LAS VEGAS, NV – April 21, 2010

News Facts

To help organizations easily incorporate environmental metrics and data into existing infrastructure and business processes, Ndevr (www.ndevr.com.au/) has developed greenhouse gas (GHG) management and reporting capabilities for use within Oracle Applications (www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/index.html) .
Ndevr’s GHG Accounting Software for International mandatory and voluntary environmental reporting schemes, such as Australia’s National Greenhouse Energy Reporting (NGER) legislation, and the GHG Protocol, is now pre-integrated with both the Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle’s JD Edwards EntepriseOne financials applications.
This pre-integrated solution provides additional data capture, analysis and presentation capabilities that help organizations assess their current carbon footprint, comply with internal and external reporting standards and work on implementing more energy-efficient solutions.
The extensions to both Oracle Financials (www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/ebusiness/financials/053262.html) and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Financial Management (www.oracle.com/applications/peoplesoft/financial_mgmt/ent_one/index.html) support setup definitions for assets, as well as data capture capabilities for gas, electricity or fuel consumption for example. This data capture can be performed within the context of an existing transaction or as a separate function.
To help users easily access and analyze the captured data, a computation layer converts it into GHG metrics and Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition Plus (www.oracle.com/appserver/business-intelligence/enterprise-edition.html) then provides a reporting layer that analyzes and presents data in a set of pre-built, but extensible dashboards.
The pre-integrated solution can also be used to track additional environmental metrics such as waste and water consumption and complies with standards published by the World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
By directly incorporating greenhouse gas and other environmental metrics within existing infrastructure and business processes, the Oracle and Ndevr solution can provide significant cost, time-to-value and audit advantages over custom or standalone GHG accounting solutions.
Ndevr is a Platinum partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork.

“With energy intensive operations across the mining, construction and engineering industries, we have always carefully managed our greenhouse gas and energy consumption figures,” said Ian Wade, Executive General Manager, Thiess. “Before we had the Oracle and Ndevr solution in place, this was a very time consuming and costly process that required us to download data from our JD Edwards system and manipulate it in Excel. That process would take months, but with the integration, we can now view and use greenhouse gas and energy figures for each of our facilities on a daily basis.”

“We’ve worked with Oracle for many years and are pleased to be able to extend that relationship through our GHG Accounting Software,” said Maureen Clifford, Chief Executive Officer & Director, Ndevr.

“The integration of greenhouse gas and other environmental metrics directly within ERP applications is a logical extension and ensures that sustainability becomes truly embedded within a business,” said Jon Chorley, Vice President of Supply Chain & Sustainability Product Strategy.
