LONDON, November 27 - Women in the City is pleased to announce that Sacha Romanovitch, Head of
People and Culture at Grant Thornton, beat 6 finalists to win the
prestigious Jaguar Woman of Achievement Award 2009, presented by property
guru Kirstie Allsopp at the 7th Annual Women in the City Lunch &
Awards Ceremony.

The Women in the City Awards programme attracts high calibre entries from
across the City of London. Each year category winners are selected, with one
finalist chosen to win the overall Woman of Achievement Award.

Plus, for the first time, Women in the City awarded an overall Coutts
Lifetime Achievement Award to Estelle Clark, Group Business Assurance
Director, Lloyd's Register.

The Awards recognise excellence and celebrate the achievements of senior
and partner-level professional women working in the City of London, Canary
Wharf, and Mayfair. Gwen Rhys, founder and Director of Women in the City is
delighted with today's result. She added;

"Congratulations to Sacha and Estelle, and well done for a much deserved
honour. The awards shine a spotlight of attention on the often hidden pool of
talent working within London, and clearly demonstrate the value and
importance of women in the city.

"Our aim is to support these women by offering a means of promoting,
recognising and rewarding female talent."

The Awards judging panel was chaired by Prof Susan Vinnicombe, OBE,
Director of the International Centre for Women Leaders at Cranfield School of
Management. She said:

"Women are often accused of 'pulling up the drawbridge' to other women,
so it's great to see how many women in the City are actively supporting other
women in so many creative ways."
