Sage Pay Teams up With One iota to Make Multi-Channel Easy for Retailers
By Sage Pay, PRNEThursday, May 5, 2011
LONDON, May 6, 2011 - Sage Pay, the UK's leading payment services provider, has today announced
a partnership with One iota, a specialist in Facebook and mobile commerce
solutions. The partnership will allow Sage Pay customers to effectively
extend their ecommerce strategy to mobile and social commerce.
With more people than ever using social networking platforms and more
businesses using them as an important sales channel, Sage Pay has identified
social commerce as the next industry growth area.
Simon Black, Managing Director, Sage Pay, commented: "We're beginning to
see a major shift in buying habits among consumers. With smartphone
technology and social media presence now virtually ubiquitous, customers are
demanding an increasing number of options in terms of how they shop, and
expect the same experience, availability and service, irrespective of the
channel they choose to interact on."
A recent report by eMarketer claimed that while ecommerce is set to grow
at a cumulative rate of 10.3% over the next four years, social commerce is
set to grow at a staggering 93.4% over the same period. The same report
claimed that by 2015 nearly 16% of all online purchases will be made through
social and mobile commerce channels.
Sage Pay's secure yet flexible payment gateway enables retailers to adapt
their technology - such as call centre software and mobile apps - to each
specific sales channel and provide the unified approach that consumers now
demand.
Simon Black continued: "As retailers are required to become ever more
innovative, they are increasingly looking for payment systems that are
flexible enough to move and change at their own pace. Partnering with
like-minded and innovative companies like One iota will help us ensure our
customers remain ahead of the game."
Damian Hanson, CEO at One iota, said: "We're delighted to partner with
Sage Pay. We've made significant technical investments in recent months in
order to integrate with its payment platform. Sage Pay clients will be able
to extend their e-commerce stores across mobile optimised websites, mobile
applications and branded Facebook fan pages in order to extend their commerce
reach and drive profitability."
All Sage Pay customers have the ability to access API's and customise
payment pages at no extra cost to their service. This also applies to fraud
screening tools and their 24/7 UK support.
