TB Davies New All Glass Fibre Steps Will Help Reduce Shock Risks

CARDIFF, Wales - After developing an industry leading insulated access range, TB Davies is about to introduce a new High Performance All Glass Fibre step, designed to be used in extremely demanding environments, targeting both the electrical and chemical industries.

“We started test-marketing the new High Performance range about six months ago and the response has been very good,” TB Davies General Manager Bob Baldock said. Unlike traditional glass fibre steps that have a high proportion of conductive metal parts, the new range features an all glass fibre frame and treads.

The High Performance steps offers superior electrical and corrosion resistance. These attributes translate into longer service life with their high strength making them ideally suited for use in a wide range of industrial applications such as manufacturing, facilities management, infrastructure repair and mass transit.

With the recession taking a toll on the construction industry, the development team had to ensure the retail price remained highly competitive without compromising the steps extremely durable and resilient construction. Mr Baldock added “you can only buy a glass fibre and aluminium hybrid at your local merchant at present. However if this fully insulated step is used in conjunction with good working at height practices, it can help reduce risk by a considerable margin.”

The High Performance step will join the company’s Summit brand that presents a line of premium climbing products engineered with professionals in mind. These new product developments have helped set TB Davies apart as not just a ladder company. Director David Gray adds, “We will continue to build on our heritage of quality and innovation, but with a focus on providing the best possible climbing solutions to both commercial end users and our resale partners.”
