LONDON, November 23, 2011 -

At last night’s Investor Relations Society annual best practice awards dinner in the Pavilion at the Tower of London, the IR Society recognised those companies which have implemented an outstanding programme of corporate reporting in the last twelve months.

It was a great evening for real estate with Land Securities winning the highly coveted Most effective overall Annual Report (printed and online) award in the FTSE 100 class for the second year running, while British Land took Best corporate website - FTSE 100 and Best use of a website to communicate and support a company’s investment proposition. Meanwhile, The Crown Estate walked away with the Best annual report by an unlisted entity prize.

Makinson Cowell’s Bob Cowell was named as the inaugural winner of The IR Society Fellowship Award for significant contribution to the development of the investor relations profession.

Chairman of The Investor Relations Society, John Dawson said:

“What an excellent array of winners this year. Last year saw a high standard set and we are pleased to see that the bar has been raised even further in 2011. The purpose of the best practice awards is to continually drive up standards in investor communications and we will continue to deliver this objective into next year and beyond”.
