3i-MIND's Vice President of Global Agency Practice, John Gill, to Discuss Benefits of Open Source Intelligence Tools in 21st Century
NEW YORK and BERLIN, February 15, 2011 - When so many of today's criminals are mobile and online, what tools can
help investigators to uncover hidden threats and leads? The answer sits with
John Gill, VP, Global Agency Practice at 3i-MIND (www.3i-mind.com) and
former White House Chief Security Officer. At 11:00 a.m. CET today, Gill will
speak at the European Police Congress
(www.beh.cms.icteam.net/polizei_Internet/nav/22d/3276fcb8-f447-2213-780e-51dbaef956b8.htm)
about Internet crime and the use of open source intelligence tools in the
21st Century.
Gill will examine recent criminal investigations in the EU, involving
immigrant smuggling and child trafficking, and discuss specific ways that
OSINT data-gathering and investigation tools can help Europol and its partner
agencies solve these types of cases faster and more efficiently. He will
discuss the benefits of OSINT tools in supporting criminal and intelligence
investigations.
As the former Chief Security Officer for the Executive Office of the U.S.
President, Gill led the development, implementation and management of
security policies and programs for the White House. He has 27 years of law
enforcement and security experience, including senior-level positions with
the U.S. Secret Service where Gill was the Attache of the Paris Field Office.
Gill will be speaking during Session A, "Global Migration Movements -
Challenges for the European Security Policy." This session will also feature
speakers from Berlin's Ministry of the Interior, Frontex and Europol. The
European Police Congress is taking place at the Berliner Congress Center in
Berlin, Germany. Additional information on the conference and each session is
