Alternative Petroleum Technologies Enters Phase II of Agreement With Port of Los Angeles
By Alternative Petroleum Technologies S.a., PRNETuesday, August 3, 2010
LUXEMBOURG, August 4, 2010 - Alternative Petroleum Technologies S.A. ("APT") announced today that it
completed an important element in the second phase of its agreement with the
Port of Los Angeles by concluding a third-party emission evaluation of its
emulsified biodiesel fuel. APT's proprietary fuel is being used in
conjunction with the Technology Advancement Program, an initiative of the San
Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan, a joint initiative between the Port of
Long Beach and the Port of Los Angeles.
The results generated by a leading independent diesel engine emissions
lab in California, Olson EcoLogic Engine Testing Laboratories include the
mitigation of the 5% increase in oxides of nitrogen (NOx) created by a B-20
biodiesel baseline; an improvement of the particulate matter (PM) reduction
associated with the same B20 biodiesel to nearly 30%; and the reduction the
total hydrocarbon (THC) emissions by 5%.
Bill Hagstrand, vice president, North America, of APT stated, "We are
pleased with these results and expect them to propel our efforts in
demonstrating the wide applicability of our emulsified biodiesel to the
various regulatory bodies covering transportation fuels in a full range of on
and off-road applications."
