CAMBRIDGE, England, October 14, 2011 -
Australia’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has confirmed that they expect to start accepting scores for Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) for student visas from 5 November this year, alongside IELTS - another exam developed by Cambridge ESOL.
Earlier in the year DIAC announced the approval of Cambridge English: Advanced scores as proof of English language skills for student visa application purpose.
This announcement will benefit students who want to prove that they have in-depth English language skills and the ability to use them effectively in an educational context. It will also help universities, colleges and schools to be confident that the students they recruit are able to deal with the demands of academic study in English, across all four skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Cambridge English: Advanced is recognised by over 3,000 organisations in 76 countries. It is accepted by majority of universities in Australia and the UK and by the UK Border Agency for all categories visas including Tier 4 student visa.
Full details of DIAC’s English language requirements for student visas will be published in the near future on www.immi.gov.au/
