BASINGSTOKE, England - New digital publisher Creative Content has been giving US President Barack Obama some stiff competition in the bestseller lists recently, with their publication “Improve Your Speech - British English.”

The instant hit has been outselling Obama’s audio book “Audacity of Hope” on iTunes in recent weeks.

Creative Content co-founders Ali Muirden and Lorelei King say, “We’re not surprised the title is doing well. With jobs and interviews so scarce these days, you need an edge when you attend an interview. You may have done your homework on the company and you may look the part - but do you sound the part? Sloppy speech can let you down at the crucial moment.”

‘Improve Your Speech’ is available in both British and American English versions. Through a series of helpful hints and exercises - including the notorious tongue twister, “Peggy Babcock” - the listener is taught how best to use the voice, breaking bad vocal habits and tidying up speech. The aim is not to eradicate accent, but to help give clarity of speech - which in turn, increases confidence.

‘Improve Your Speech’ has been on the language bestseller lists on both Audible and iTunes since it launched. Muirden says, ‘Wonderful diction really gets you noticed, whether you are speaking at a meeting, giving a presentation to a huge audience, or just talking one-to-one in an interview situation. And with such a wonderful speaker in the White House, it seems there’s been a resurgence of interest in oratory. President Obama is the perfect example of someone who speaks well without sounding in any way unnatural.’ King agrees, adding, ‘He has a great voice. We’d love him to narrate one of our titles - but I think he’s a bit busy at the moment!’
