Leading Norwegian Securities Trading Organisation Chooses CA Workload Automation Solution to Improve Availability of Critical Workflows and IT Services
DATCHET, England, August 26, 2010 - CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) today announced that Oslo Bors ASA chooses CA
Workload Automation solution. By standardizing on the distributed hosted CA
Technologies solution, Oslo Bors will improve the availability of the
critical workflows and IT services the organisation relies on, enhance
end-to-end process visibility, and simplify compliance and reporting. The
solution is expected to deliver a rapid return on investment.

Oslo Bors offers the only regulated markets for securities trading in
Norway, providing investors with a comprehensive range of products including
equities, derivatives, and fixed income instruments. Challenged to reduce its
technology infrastructure management costs, Oslo Bors examined various
alternative workload automation solutions when the existing IBM solution
license was due for renewal. The company chose CA Technologies in preference
to equivalent solutions from IBM, BMC Software, and UC4 based on a
combination of CA's expertise across all IT environments-from mainframe and
physical to virtual and cloud-product functionality, and price
competitiveness.
Working closely with CA Services, Oslo Bors is now deploying CA AutoSys
Workload Automation to increase the availability of the Norwegian
organisation's critical IT workload processes and schedules. Oslo Bors
currently runs up to 3,000 jobs per day (approximately 1,000 of which are
unique jobs) across more than 200 Windows servers. The solution will help
Oslo Bors proactively manage its batch and online workload processes through
event-based IT automation capabilities. It will also enable workload
prioritisation, leveraging real-time alerting and dynamic critical path
management. The system is expected to go live later in 2010.
"In today's service-oriented enterprise, workload processing demands are
no longer predictable," said Tommy Nygren, Vice President, IT Operations and
Infrastructure, Oslo Bors. "This CA Workload Automation solution introduces a
new service-oriented generation of business processing tools for managing
workloads. It will enable Oslo Bors to increase control over the dynamic
execution of workloads required by today's complex business processes."
CA AutoSys Workload Automation is an event-driven scheduling and
automation solution for distributed computing environments. The solution
provides configurable workflows and adopts a policy-driven approach, in
combination with traditional job scheduling techniques (which include
IT-centric and calendar-based events processing) to automate processes across
multiple platforms. The dynamic workload allocation capability enables higher
resource utilisation while increasing application availability.
