Child Trust Fund Roadshows Launched for the IFA Community

LONDON - A series of free seminars designed to help Independent Financial Advisers support clients with their children’s financial futures is being rolled out by leading Child Trust Fund (CTF) provider, The Children’s Mutual (www.thechildrensmutual.co.uk/).
The roadshows are designed to help IFAs discover how the Government’s Child Trust Fund scheme can assist their clients with preparing for the expenses they could face when their children reach adulthood. They will also demonstrate how the CTF can open the door to other conversations about a family’s financial future both with an existing client and with the broader family.
The seminars are taking place in ten locations across the country, will cover:
- How the Child Trust Fund works, who is eligible and how it should be part of holistic financial planning. - The varied and growing costs many parents face as their children become young adults, including the cost of university and moving out of the parental home. - The critical role IFAs play in promoting a culture of saving for children. - How IFAs can cement existing client relationships and open up new business opportunities with the wider family unit
The roadshow series is being launched following positive feedback from The Children’s Mutual IFA workshops held in Ipswich and St Albans earlier this year. Places are limited and IFAs are invited to register their interest by emailing roadshow@thechildrensmutual.co.uk
Alan Harding, National IFA Sales Manager at The Children’s Mutual said: “The IFAs we’ve talked to are finding it very difficult to write business or even speak to clients at the moment because clients are understandably worried about the economy and their own job security. However, our research shows that parents and expectant couples still believe it’s a good time to be saving for their children. The Child Trust Fund may offer IFAs a fresh opportunity to speak to new and existing clients.
“With economic uncertainty uppermost in many families’ minds, IFAs have a vital role to play in helping their clients plan for their own and their children’s futures. By fully understanding the potential of the CTF and helping parents to plan for those big ticket items such as higher education and house deposits, IFAs may help to prevent clients from missing out on the retirement they’ve saved for or their children missing out on their own plans for the future.”
Each roadshow will be followed by refreshments and an opportunity to ask questions of The Children’s Mutual IFA Support Team and network with fellow IFAs. Places are limited. For more information or to book a place at one of the free roadshows below, please email roadshow@thechildrensmutual.co.uk
