GRAZ, Austria, June 6, 2011 -

CNSystems from Graz, the leading medical technology company
will bring a sensation to the world's attention in June. The company will be
presenting its further developed CNAP technology at the International
Congress of the European Society of Anaesthesiology in Amsterdam, which not
only offers continuous, noninvasive blood pressure measurement, but it also
monitors the fluid status during operations.

CNAP(R)-PPV is the latest generation of the CNAP (Continuous Noninvasive
Arterial Pressure) technology invented by CNSystems. Like the first
generation, the new device also measures noninvasive blood pressure for each
heartbeat using finger sensors. An additional function is the continuous
measurement of the patient's fluid status during operations.
"Anaesthesiologists know that a fluid deficit has a negative consequence on
the circulation. Here our device proves its worth: it monitors both, blood
pressure and fluid balance continuously. In case of a deficit, an infusion
can be administered and therefore complications be avoided," the head of
CNSystems, Jürgen Fortin, explains how the new device works.

"CNAP-PPV should extend the positive outcome of goal-directed
fluid management beyond high-risk, arterial-line or Doppler-monitored
surgeries. This would allow fluid management to become an actual and routine
clinical standard for the benefit of the anesthetized patients," explains
university professor Benoit Vallet, head of the Department of Anaesthesiology
and Intensive Care at the Lille University Hospital, France, who tested
CNAP(R)-PPV thoroughly.

39% of all operation patients would be eligible for this
method of fluid management. CNAP(R)-PPV constitutes a cost-saving solution as
this method decreases complications, optimises the treatment and ultimately
reduces the number of hospitalisation-days.

So the device penetrates the fastest growing segment on the
patient monitoring market. "More and more anaesthesiologists and health care
managers recognise the potential of target-oriented fluid optimisation and
the associated reduction of complications. This saves the health care system
money and paves the way for our innovation," explains Fortin.
