Combating Terrorism With Technology
By Prne, Gaea News NetworkMonday, November 9, 2009
LONDON, November 10 - The security industry has grown exponentially since the events of 9/11.
In a video interview, Mati Kochavi, Chairman of AGT International, a leading
high-tech security company, talks about the evolving ways technology is being
used to combat terrorism and organised crime worldwide and the way the
security industry is coming of age.
He says a new mind set is required to cope with the security threats the
world faces today and it's up to security firms to develop the tools needed
to deal with an almost unseen enemy.
Mr Kochavi also warns that public sector companies are not investing
enough in security.
"It's a big challenge for many major companies who need this kind of
security to decide to allocate a lot of money to secure themselves and secure
the places surrounding them. It's a big challenge for them. And when the
economy goes south, they will cut their investment in that direction."
