LONDON, November 23, 2011 -
Online retailers launch Cyber Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Free Delivery Day Sales
Cyber Monday sales start on 28 November with sales from Banana Republic, Gap, Yukka, Adobe, The Gift Experience and more. Last year’s Cyber Monday participants included TopShop and CD Wow! The Apple Store will have its annual Cyber Black Friday sale on 25 November - the only day of the year that Apple discounts its popular Mac, iPad and iPhone products.
CyberMonday.co.uk predicts the UK’s busiest shopping day will be the following Monday, 5 December with even more retailers having Cyber Monday sales on that date. Talya Schaeffer, founder of voucher code website eCoupons.co.uk and CyberMonday.co.uk said, “Cyber Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Free Delivery Day fall within the two week peak period between 28 November and 12 December where an estimated 3.72 billion pounds will be spent. UK retailers will offer their best holiday promotions and discounts during these manic days.”
Free Delivery Day will be held on 9 December with hundreds of retailers offering free delivery on all products in time for Christmas. Confirmed participants include Alexandalexa.com, Astley Clarke, Bastyln, DHC, Dorothy Perkins, T.M. Lewin, Isabella Oliver and Lacoste. This year’s event will begin at 12am GMT on Friday 9th December and ends at 12am GMT on Saturday 10th December.
Meanwhile, Zavvi and Play.com have started Mega Monday sales from now until Christmas. “Mega Monday” is a registered trademark of The Hut.com Limited.
Online Shopping Tips:
- Shop early for computers. Because of massive flooding damage in Thailand, hard drives are in limited supply and have increased in price.
- Watch where you click. Don’t open emails from unfamiliar stores or “friends”. Beware of advertisements with prices or offers that are too good to be true. Make sure to have the latest antivirus program and operating system updates.
- When using a credit card to shop online, check recent activity and monthly statements to make sure charges are accurate.
The overall peak of UK online shopping is Cyber Boxing Day, 26 December, with early Boxing Day sales starting a few days before Christmas.
