Operating income reached US$441.9 million (30.8% of revenues), 22.4% lower than the US$632.2 million (35.6% of revenues) recorded the previous year. Revenues for 2009 totaled US$1,436.9 million, representing a decrease of 16.0% over the US$1,774.1 million reported in 2008.

NEWBURY, England, February 26, 2010 - The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) will convene today to decide the fate of UK patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The institute will consider Bayer's appeal (submitted 3rd December 2009) of its draft negative Final Appraisal Determination (FAD) for Nexavar(R) (sorafenib) in HCC, published on its website on the 19th November 2009, after nearly two years of consultation. Bayer appealed on the grounds that NICE failed to act fairly and in accordance with its own published procedures. Following the outcome of today's hearing, NICE will issue their final ruling in March 2010 (exact date tbc). The consultation process does not allow for further appeals.

LONDON, February 26, 2010 - NICE will convene today after two years of delays, to exercise their final opportunity to reverse the fate of thousands of UK advanced primary liver cancer patients who were told in November that they will be denied their only survival option, Nexavar(R) (sorafenib) on the NHS. As the NICE panel convenes to hear the appeal from the drug manufacturer (Bayer Schering Pharma), RCF pleads with NICE to re-consider the evidence in favour of the drug, in order to avoid leaving thousands of UK patients with no treatment option at all and no hope as the process reaches its final stage.

VANCOUVER, February 25, 2010 - Silver Wheaton Corp. ("Silver Wheaton" or the "Company") (TSX, NYSE: SLW) is pleased to announce that it has elected to convert its debenture with Pan American Silver Corp. ("Pan American") into an agreement to acquire an amount equal to 12.5% of the life of mine silver production from the Loma de La Plata zone of the Navidad project ("Navidad"). Navidad is located in the Province of Chubut, Argentina, and is one of the largest undeveloped silver deposits in the world. The Loma de La Plata zone contains approximately 25% of the measured and indicated silver resources within the Navidad deposit (see Aquiline Resources Inc. ("Aquiline") press release dated April 16, 2009). Pan American inherited the debenture as a result of its recent CDN$626 million acquisition of Aquiline, the previous owner of the Navidad project (see Pan American press releases dated October 14, 2009 and January 26, 2010). Silver Wheaton and Pan American expect to finalize the definitive terms of the silver purchase agreement by the end of 2010.
