LOS ANGELES, July 19, 2011 -

- New Chief Scientist has worked in
cyber defense and applied physics, with extensive field
experience

Safe and Secure Mobile, Inc., whose new phone-security
application incorporates NSA-approved technology utilized by
government agencies, has named Dr. David Ford as it new Chief
Scientist. “Dr. Ford brings a vast width and breadth of experience
to our company,” says CEO Michael Franco. “He has worked in the
cyber-defense field, through applied physics, with field experience
in real-life applications.

“What I like about Dr. Ford - and which many other scientists
lack - is that he has brought a skill set of operating within a
multi-disciplinary strategy,” Franco continues. “There are many
scientists familiar with new technologies, but I need a scientist
who can execute a vision - a scientist who can take orders and
adjust on the fly. Dr. Ford is all this and so much more.”

Earlier this month, Safe and Secure Mobile released href="safeandsecuremobile.com/">SafeandSecureMobile.com,
a new security app that ensures enhanced protection from illegal
hacking for BlackBerry® and Android® smart phone users. An Apple
iPhone version is slated for release in a week’s time, followed by
a Nokia® version later this month. SSM’s design team of specialists
was responsible for actions that resulted in creating a BlackBerry
device secure enough to allow President Obama to regain the use of
his BlackBerry after he took office in 2009. The same technology is
now available for worldwide phone users in the form of an
inexpensive, downloadable application. Recent phone-hacking
revelations in the UK concerning News of the World reporters
have underscored real concerns about mobile-phone security, and not
just a problem for the rich and famous.

After completing graduate work in physics and mathematics at
Cornell and receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, in
1997, Dr. Ford was selected for admission to the National Security
Agency’s intensive three-year postdoctoral training program. At the
NSA he continued work on the application of advanced mathematical
and physical techniques for global computing and communications
networks. Dr. Ford’s experience encompasses many highly classified
core missions, the protection of U.S. national security systems,
the production of foreign signals intelligence information, and
penetration of hard targets, working with highly sophisticated
tools.

In 1998, in response to Presidential Decision Directive
63
on the protection of U.S. telecommunications networks , Dr.
Ford was called upon to lead an operational field team including
over 50 technical experts representing all four uniformed services
and intelligence commands in the construction of the
first-of-its-kind communications network technology designed
against threats from the most determined adversaries in the world.
The work was recognized nationally at an internal White House
meeting on critical communication infrastructure protection where
it was dubbed “the way forward” by independent, military-industrial
community experts.

In darker times, Dr. Ford was called upon in October of 2001 by
the Department of Commerce to assist and assess the condition of
financial sector communications networks. He later also served as a
consultant to the Terrorism Sanctions committee at the United
Nations where he outlined a science based method and technology for
the mathematical analysis of communications in terror networks.

At the request of the commanding officer of the Defense
Department’s JTFGNO (Joint Task for Global Network Operations), in
2004 Dr. Ford became a science advisor for the Defense Information
Systems Agency. In 2007, he became a Research Professor of Physics
at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, where his
innovative and seminal work on the physical foundations of
communications theory launched a multi-million dollar DARPA effort,
the first large-scale undertaking that was able to be made
available to the external information protection research
community.

While resident on a protected mobile device, the href="safeandsecuremobile.com/">SafeandSecureMobile.com
app is completely invisible; it is not displayed in the application
list, user menus or user settings. The software continuously and
unobtrusively monitors all attempts to open data ports, and
continuously blocks such intrusions.

The href="safeandsecuremobile.com/">SafeandSecureMobile.com
team of experts also includes scientist Frank Cole, who served as
an Adjunct Instructor for the National Cryptologic School where he
earned multiple certificates in such areas as electronic
warfare/signals intelligence and cryptologic analysis.
