GoldenSource to Discuss Role of Standardisation in Reducing Risk at Corporate Actions Webinar
By Goldensource, PRNEMonday, June 14, 2010
LONDON, June 15, 2010 - GoldenSource Corporation (www.thegoldensource.com), a leading
provider of Enterprise Data Management (EDM)
(www.thegoldensource.com/company/edm) solutions, will participate in a
Corporate Actions: Standardisation
(mediazone.brighttalk.com/event/IRD/7f278ad602-3951-intro) webinar
moderated by Inside Reference Data (IRD) on Tuesday 15th June. The panel,
which includes industry peers Fidelity ActionsXchange, SEB Merchant Banking
and SIX Telekurs, will discuss reducing risk in corporate actions processing,
the current state of play with industry standards development, and
standardisation best practice.
The drive to further reduce risk has lead to a renewed focus
on corporate actions processing among financial markets. Introducing a
uniform, 'golden copy' master data set for corporate actions makes
standardisation and normalisation of notifications realistic, and would
considerably reduce related losses. The focus for the industry now is to
demonstrate the advantages of the new standards such as XBRL and ISO 20022 to
issuers to encourage their rapid adoption.
Gert Raeves, SVP strategic business development at
GoldenSource, will highlight the business case for the use of XBRL in
corporate actions, and discuss both the current standards status quo and the
future standards landscape. He will also discuss best practice for ensuring
optimal corporate actions processing through golden copy master data,
including looking at:
- The need for industry collaboration in developing global standards; - How to best educate issuers about the importance of standardisation; - The adoption of ISO 200022 and XBRL; and - How improved data quality can advance adoption of new market regulation.
The webinar will take place at 10am EST/3pm BST on Tuesday 15th June. For
