Gouman Hotels' Royal Horseguards Property Celebrates National Chocolate Week
By Guoman Thistle Hotels, PRNETuesday, October 12, 2010
LONDON, October 13, 2010 - Guoman Hotels' five star Whitehall hotel The Royal Horseguards has
created an unashamedly decadent treat to challenge even the most ardent
chocoholics for National Chocolate Week.
The Royal Horseguards' indulgent Chocolate Afternoon Tea has been
designed by the hotel's resident pastry chef Joanne Todd. Todd joined The
Royal Horseguards in 2010 as a Pastry Chef after wowing the hotel with her
talent and has proven herself to be imaginative, ambitious, reliable and
trustworthy, showcasing an eye for detail and a passion for food, hospitality
and customer satisfaction.
Utilising incredibly delicate techniques that take many hours to craft,
the special menu created by Joanne is a veritable cocoa heaven.
The chocolate treat starts with a deliciously spicy chocolate foam shot
created with Xocomeli, a luxe dark chocolate, and garnished with peppered
berry salsa. This is presented with an accompanying almond streusel and a
guanaja chocolate tarte with slow roasted pineapple and liquorice.
A hot chocolate or tea is served with a selection of coffee and cocoa
macaroons, an ivoire white chocolate cupcake filled with orange curd, and an
orange blossom-infused Chantilly further compliments the menu.
Guests at the luxury London hotel (

indulgence with butterscotch pear compote garnished with rich velvety
Caramelia ganache cremeaux and liqueur truffles with Baileys, Cointreau and
Kahlua.
The tea, available from 11th to 24th October, is served in the hotel's
ultra-comfortable lounge area - the perfect way to spend a chilly autumn's
evening in the Capital.
