Greenplum Software Builds Global Momentum; Names Elie Simon as EMEA General Manager

Industry Veteran to Lead European Operations for Data Warehousing and Business Analytics Innovator
SAN MATEO, California, June 8, 2010 - Greenplum Software (www.greenplum.com/), the world's leading data
infrastructure company, today announced that it has named Elie Simon as Vice
President and General Manager of EMEA. In this role, Mr. Simon will establish
the European Operations to support Greenplum clients and partners who are
rapidly adopting new and modern approaches to data warehousing and business
analytics.

systems, software, storage and RFID companies over the last 25 years, will be
launching Greenplum's EMEA business with participation in additional industry

Before joining Greenplum, Elie Simon was chairman of Insync Software
which provides the fabric for the world's leading RFID, GPS, and
sensor-driven line-of-business software applications, and chairman and
co-founder of Digiprice, an early stage company designing social-net-shopping
solutions for the retail industry. Earlier, Mr. Simon was previously the
president and CEO of TAGSYS, the global leader in the design and development
of RFID infrastructure for item-level asset tracking, where he was
instrumental to putting the company in the Top 3 ranking of the Industry.
Mr. Simon also held a number of executive leadership positions at Sun
Microsystems, including President of the company's Europe, Middle East and
Africa region, which represented more than US$5 billion of Sun's annual
revenue.
Mr. Simon won the Ernst & Young France Entrepreneur of the Year in 2007
while at Tagsys and was runner-up for The Tech-Tour European Entrepreneur of
the Year. He earned a masters degree in Electrical Engineering from ESIEE,
Paris, a masters of business administration from IAE Bordeaux and graduated
from Colchester University.
