LONDON, January 25 - Have you been inspired by Charlie Simpson? Well get on your bike, just
like Charlie did, and do something fun to raise money for Haiti.

Seven year old Charlie Simpson has raised over GBP120,000 and counting
for UNICEF's Haiti Appeal, by completing a sponsored bike ride in his local
park.

Here are a few ideas from other people already raising money
for UNICEF's Haiti appeal.

    - Jason Korinek has rallied members of his gym in Cardiff to
row a million metres this weekend.

    - Jazz legend Ed Jones has arranged a fundraising gig at The
Willow in Winchmore Hill this Sunday.

    - Sara Wolff has organised a Valentine's Masquerade Party at
the Archangel Club in Kensington on 14th February.

    - Kirsty Michael has organised a fashion show at Manchester's
      Birdcage club on 16th March.

Michael Newsome, Director of Individual Giving at UNICEF UK
comments: "The UK public have been inspired by Charlie because he's shown us
all that even a simple idea can make an enormous difference to the children
of Haiti. Our supporters are busy organising hundreds of fundraising events -
jumble sales, head shaves, quizzes, even the classis bath of beans (Helen
Laidlaw
, Banbury Train Station, 6th February)! The smallest ideas often work
the best so don't be afraid to give it a go!"

UNICEF does not receive money from the DEC nor from the UN budget.
