Health Robotics Continues its Global Expansion With December 09 ASHP's Launch of Joint Venture in Canada
By Health Robotics, PRNEMonday, November 23, 2009
BOZEN, Italy, November 24 - Health Robotics today announced that it has formed a new Canadian joint
venture with a group of selected investors. This recently formed
Toronto-based company will operate under the name Health Robotics Canada,
Inc. and will market, install, and support Health Robotics' i.v. Room of the
Future concept, which includes the revolutionary product offerings
i.v.STATION(TM), i.v.SOFT(TM), and OMM(TM). Health Robotics Canada Inc. will
also provide assistance on an "as needed basis" to its strategic partnerships
with McKesson Corp. for its market leading Oncology Robot CytoCare(TM), as
well as other world-leading products and services from Biomedical Technology
Consulting, MEDarchiver, and selected other companies to be named at a later
date and which are currently subject to ongoing exclusive negotiations.
"Although the Canadian industry started to build I.V. Robotics in
Winnipeg over twenty years ago (1), the fact of the matter is that neither
several Canadian and/or USA-based companies in the healthcare sector, nor any
of pre-Summer of 2009 Health Robotics' distribution partners in Canada were
able to sell, install and support a single commercially-viable I.V. Robot in
such an important market as Canada over the past twenty years. I'm very
pleased that Health Robotics now has the adequate human and financial
resources to bring to Canadian hospitals the life-critical features and
benefits that hospitals all over the world have already enjoyed with our
world-leading robots and software products and services. We look forward to
shortly find early adopters for our technology solutions and to implement our
I.V. products in Canada during the first half of 2010. I realize that we have
to make up for a twenty-year-plus late entry into the Canadian market but are
confident on quickly bridging the gap with our USA and Canadian-based
competitors in the field of I.V. Automation. Canadian hospitals interested in
deploying Health Robotics' proven, commercially-viable, robots and software
automation solutions, or learning about our revolutionary i.v. Room of the
Future concept are cordially invited to visit our booth (# 114) at the
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists' Mid-Year Meeting December 6-10
in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA", stated Werner Rainer, Health Robotics' CEO.
About Health Robotics:
Health Robotics is the undisputed global leading supplier of
life-critical intra-venous Medication Admixture robots, providing healthcare
facilities in 4 continents with robotics technology and software automation
solutions. Its world-leading solutions CytoCare(TM) (hazardous IVs),
i.v.STATION(TM) (non-hazardous IVs), i.v.SOFT(TM) (workflow engine for manual
compounding) and the future development of TPNstation(TM) (totally-automated
parenteral nutrition) have and will greatly contribute to ease hospitals'
growing pressures to improve patient safety through the effective and
efficient production of sterile, accurate, and ready-to-administer IVs; to
eliminate life-threatening drug-exchange errors and to decrease other
medication errors and sterility risks; and to work more efficiently, increase
throughput, reduce waste, and contain costs. Additional benefits derived from
Health Robotics' vision to complete the i.v. Room of the Future include
improving the situational awareness of the I.V. Medication Management
processes across the continuum of care, enhancing pharmacy-nursing
patient-focused communications, introducing holographic user interfaces to
the clean room, and reducing the gap between rising patient volume/acuity and
scarce nursing and pharmacy staff. For more information, please visit
