LONDON, November 24, 2011 -

A recent survey conducted by self storage specialists Easistore has exposed the most stressful situations Brits face when moving house. A whopping third of us worry about being made temporarily homeless as house move plans fail. This is a particular anxiety for older Brits, with more than half of over 55s citing this as their top moving concern.

A quarter of Brits are most apprehensive about damage to favourite belongings in the move. For a significant 30% of 18-24 year olds this is the most nerve-wracking prospect; perhaps damage to PlayStations, computers and iPads worries this technology savvy generation?

With British homes smaller than ever before[1], it’s understandable that 22% of Londoners are apprehensive that their belongings may not fit into their new home!

Paul Glenister, managing director of Easistore is concerned that temporary homelessness is the most stressful scenario faced by Brits moving house: “Finding short-term accommodation is frustrating enough, let alone working out where to house everything you own. Easistore self storage Kent has a helpful team  to advise on your temporary move into storage; we can even provide free van hire to transport items into storage during this in-between period ahead of the big move.”

Regarding worry over the damage of favourite belongings Glenister continues: “Planning ahead by moving cherished or fragile items into temporary storage reduces risk of damage to favourite possessions during the big move. Climate controlled storage is ideal for delicate artwork and choosing self storage allows you to move precious assets in your own time.”

Concerning the re-organisation of belongings when moving to a smaller home, Glenister says: “Planning ahead when downsizing your living space can be challenging: self storage keeps items safe while you move into a smaller home. Choose from a range of 23 storage sizes to keep belongings secure during this decision making period.”

Easistore self storage is located in Crawley, Tunbridge Wells and Edenbridge, Kent.
